About
Holy Spirit Catholic Church Youth Ministry is comprised of a couple of different programs and a variety of paths to getting youth involved in the parish community. The goal of the HSCC Youth Ministry is to help our young people to become rooted in their faith and identity in Christ and to develop skills and practices for lifelong discipleship.
Youth Group Program
The most well-known of our programs is our Youth Group program. Youth Group is a place for teenagers to learn about and grow in their faith and community with one another. The High School youth (9th-12th grade) meet on Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30 pm. Click here for High school Youth Group Fall Schedule_2021. The middle school youth (7th & 8th grade) meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 pm. Click here for Middle school Youth Group Fall Schedule
Please contact Allison Steen-Baker (via email: allison@holyspiritcatholic.org) if you would like to get involved in our Youth Ministry or simply fill out our Registration Packet to sign up!

Retreats, Mission Trips & Youth Conferences
Each year our parish attends a number of National and Diocesan youth events (held outside of the Holy Spirit campus). Below are descriptions and general information for each. Dates will be posted as they are released by the organization responsible for the event.
Owensboro Diocesan Youth Conference (ODYC)
This gathering is all of the Fun and Faith of the big bi-annual conference but without the travel, cost and crowds. This event gets bigger and better every time and will be attended by over 500 youth from all over the Diocese. In 2020 it will be held in Bowling Green, KY at the Knicely Convention Center. This event is for 7th – 12th graders.
*If you have filled out the Form A & Form D3 for the current academic year, you do not need to do so again.*
Christmas Camp – Gasper River Catholic Retreat Center
Every December 29th to January 1st, current 8th graders and high schoolers are invited to attend Christmas/New Year’s Camp. It’s a great way for 8th graders to meet kids they’ll be going to Camp Life with next summer, and for High School Campers to reconnect with old friends. This camp is much more laid back than summer camp; campers still do all the activities, celebrate the Sacraments, and have Adoration, but with a more relaxed atmosphere. This is a great way to end one year, and begin the next! There are still spots available, so please register ASAP!
2021 – Dates not yet released
Cost – $50
Diocesan Youth Retreat (new) – The Lazarus Retreat
The Lazarus Retreat is a brand new experience for our Diocese. It is a short weekend designed to inspire discipleship and ignite one’s own faith! There are only 5 spots available for our parish and it will be held at Gasper River Catholic Retreat Center. This event is for highschool students; preference will be given to seniors.
